Canoptek Spyders

Unit

Checked as of · 1 official source · 2 min read

The named Necron units that can build Tomb Pylons anywhere on the map and extend the Power Matrix network.

Builders of Tomb Pylons

The Necron faction deep dive names Canoptek Spyders and says that they are capable of building Tomb Pylons anywhere on the map. The source then explains that the pylons spawn a new patch of Power Matrix and act as a translocation target for units entering the Tomb Citadel. That gives Canoptek Spyders a confirmed construction and network-support role in the Necron movement system.

The published description makes the unit’s importance positional. A Spyder can place the structure that extends the Matrix and connects a remote point to translocation. The source does not say that the Spyder itself is a general-purpose combat unit, nor does it publish its cost, build time, movement, durability or the number of pylons it can create.

Do not invent the unit’s combat profile

The authority does not name a direct counter to Canoptek Spyders or explain what happens if one is destroyed while a Pylon remains. It also does not publish the distance limit, construction duration, Matrix size or translocation conditions. The reliable information is the building function, not a complete tactical card.

The composition error is to confuse the Canoptek Spyder with the Tomb Pylon it builds. The unit is confirmed as the builder; the Pylon is the structure that creates the new Matrix patch and movement target. Exact combat role, production timing, survivability and counterplay for the Spyder remain unconfirmed.

No cost, build time, hit points, range, damage or squad size here — none of it has been published, by anyone. The game has not shipped and no playable build has produced figures that can be checked. Those rows appear the day the numbers exist.
