Deathmarks
Unit
Checked as of · 1 official source · 2 min read
The named Necron sniper unit described as capable of outranging commanders and elite infantry from safety.
A sniper role against high-value targets
The Necron faction deep dive names Deathmarks as sniper units. Deep Silver says they are more than capable of outranging and eliminating enemy commanders and elite infantry from a safe distance. The published role is therefore long-range pressure against named high-value targets, with the source explicitly mentioning commanders and elite infantry rather than every unit type.
The article places Deathmarks after the Scarabs example: Scarabs can engage enemy ranged units in melee, while Deathmarks attack commanders and elite infantry from afar. That sequence shows complementary roles inside the Necron description, but it does not state that Deathmarks are protected from every approach or that their range is infinite.
Outranging is not an all-target guarantee
The authority does not publish the exact range, damage, cost, health, reload or counter-unit for Deathmarks. It does not describe their performance against structures, vehicles or ordinary infantry. The phrase safe distance is part of the publisher’s description, not proof that the unit cannot be reached or that the same setup works on every map.
The composition mistake is to read a sniper role as a universal answer. Deathmarks are confirmed as named Necron sniper units with a published commander-and-elite-infantry focus. Their exact production timing, survivability, upgrades and counterplay remain unconfirmed before release.

No cost, build time, hit points, range, damage or squad size here — none of it has been published, by anyone. The game has not shipped and no playable build has produced figures that can be checked. Those rows appear the day the numbers exist.
