Two Chapters and an elite army

KING Art’s October 8 Space Marines deep dive describes two playable Chapters with different campaign circumstances. The Blood Ravens arrive on Kronus with depleted numbers and limited resources, so their missions emphasise smaller engagements, reconnaissance and precision strikes. The Dark Angels retain access to heavier firepower. This is a description of their campaign context, not a published numerical comparison of their multiplayer strength.

The studio presents Space Marines as a smaller force of powerful, relatively expensive units. Equipment choices and upgrade paths develop those units during a match, making their survival a central part of the faction’s design. The announcement therefore gives the Space Marines faction page more context for its elite-army guidance, but it does not turn that guidance into a guaranteed victory or a tested build order.

Orbital reserves, transport and the campaign exception

The article explains that units can be readied as reserves in orbit and then deployed by Drop Pod. Reinforcements can also be sent down to support a valuable unit under fire. The Thunderhawk Relay provides another way to reposition: units enter the building and can then be redeployed elsewhere by Thunderhawk. These are published deployment options, rather than evidence that every unit can be moved freely or that deployment has no cost or delay.

KING Art also describes a Painter system with prepared schemes for popular Chapters and tools to create and share detailed designs. The announcement explicitly excludes the campaign from the areas where players can field their favourite custom Chapter. It does not publish exact unit costs, upgrade timings, transport cooldowns or a complete numerical balance sheet; the campaign exception remains part of the customisation promise.
