Adeptus Mechanicus vs Dark Angels

Matchup

Checked as of · 1 official source · 2 min read

A conditional pre-release synthesis of the publisher’s technology-and-range doctrine against the Dark Angels’ elite Space Marines guidance.

The two published doctrines

Deep Silver tells Adeptus Mechanicus players to build a strong Noosphere Network early, expand it to key resource points and keep enemy melee units away from the superior firing line. Its Dark Angels block uses the Space Marines guidance: elite fighters usually win one-on-one encounters, early pressure can harass an opponent, and fortifications, Reserves and the Thunderhawk Relay help troops reach the places where they are needed.

Read together, the official material describes a contest between a networked firing line and an elite force that wants to make contact on favourable terms. The Adeptus Mechanicus side wants the network and ranged distance to remain intact; the Dark Angels side wants the fight to become a series of engagements where elite units and reinforcement tools matter. This is a synthesis of two doctrines, not a measured result.

Condition and responsible use

Condition: this is an unconfirmed pre-release synthesis. It assumes the published roles remain unchanged, the pair is available in the relevant mode and neither faction receives a balance change. Under that condition, the Adeptus Mechanicus plan is to protect the network and keep melee away, while the Dark Angels plan is to stretch the firing line across several engagements and use movement tools to deny a safe rear area.

The sources do not publish the ranges, costs, map rules or balance values needed to say which plan wins. They also do not establish that an Adeptus Mechanicus versus Dark Angels queue is selectable. This page is not a tier list, a faction ranking or a guaranteed counter guide; it is a dated reading of the two official doctrines.

No cost, build time, hit points, range, damage or squad size here — none of it has been published, by anyone. The game has not shipped and no playable build has produced figures that can be checked. Those rows appear the day the numbers exist.
