Adeptus Mechanicus vs Orks
Matchup
Checked as of · 1 official source · 2 min read
A conditional pre-release reading of the Adeptus Mechanicus firing-line doctrine against the Orks’ numbers and aggression.
Firing line against overwhelming numbers
Deep Silver tells the Adeptus Mechanicus to build the Noosphere Network early, expand to key resource points and keep enemy melee units away from the superior firing line. Its Ork guidance says to keep pressure on with relentless aggression and overwhelming numbers, spread bases, build strongholds and erect Waaagh! Banners. Against the Orks, the publisher also says individual units, especially ranged units, are not their greatest strength and that Ork buildings are relatively easy to destroy.
The synthesis creates a clear condition rather than a winner. Adeptus Mechanicus wants enough distance and network support to make the ranged line matter; Orks want numbers and forward pressure to deny that safe distance. The official counter guidance suggests that exposed Ork advances and bases are pressure points, but it does not say that every Adeptus Mechanicus ranged unit reaches them in time.
Condition and no tier verdict
Condition: this is an unconfirmed pre-release synthesis assuming the factions’ published doctrines survive unchanged and the pair is actually playable in the mode being discussed. Under that condition, the Adeptus Mechanicus plan is to preserve a firing line and attack exposed infrastructure, while the Ork plan is to widen the front, maintain pressure and use numbers to force close engagements.
The sources do not publish production costs, range, damage, map layouts or balance results for this pair. They do not establish which faction is stronger or that destroying an Ork building always decides a game. This is not a tier list or a guaranteed counter guide; it is a dated conditional interpretation of the publisher’s two doctrine blocks.

No cost, build time, hit points, range, damage or squad size here — none of it has been published, by anyone. The game has not shipped and no playable build has produced figures that can be checked. Those rows appear the day the numbers exist.
