Action Points and Strike Forces

The Crusade world-map turn, its Action Points and the Strike Forces that move between territories.

A turn-based strategic layer

The Crusade announcement describes a turn-based world map with territories spread across Kronus. On each turn, the player spends a limited number of Action Points to manoeuvre a Strike Force of combat units into neutral and enemy territories, pursuing the wider Crusade objective. This is the confirmed relationship between the two terms: Action Points limit movement and activity, while Strike Forces are the groups that travel through the strategic layer.

The article gives an example in which attacking a territory costs two Action Points and a target can reward a pair of Action Points after a successful challenge. That example illustrates the possibility of extending a turn, but it is not a universal price list. The source also says some outcomes are automatic while others require a traditional battle.

Persistent forces, not a launch multiplayer rule

The announcement says that tougher encounters play like traditional skirmishes, while units in Crusade retain their status between rounds. They continue earning experience and levelling up, and they keep the skills and Wargear accrued during the Crusade. Action Points and Strike Forces therefore belong to a mode with a persistent campaign layer, not to a generic Quick Match opening.

The source does not publish a complete Action Point economy, the number of Strike Forces available to every Commander, the full territory map or the final automatic-battle thresholds. It also describes Crusade as post-launch content. This page confirms the announced structure and its persistence, while leaving exact turn optimization unconfirmed.
