Necrons

Faction

Checked as of · 1 official source · 2 min read

What the publisher has confirmed about the Necrons, their territory-based systems and the limits of pre-release strategy advice.

Resilience, territory and recovery

Deep Silver describes the Necrons as ancient, deathless beings that traded mortal bodies for mechanical supremacy. It says that they are awakening from a 60-million-year slumber and seeking to reclaim their galactic empire. Those sentences establish the faction’s setting and its broad design identity; they do not establish a release-day tier position or a promise that every engagement favours the Necrons.

The publisher’s play guidance is more specific. It tells players to leverage resilience in prolonged engagements and recover losses through Resurrection Galleries, to advance the Power Matrix methodically and fight within it for additional bonuses, and to use translocation methods later in a game to offset slow movement speed. Taken together, those statements describe a faction whose territory and endurance matter, while leaving the exact values and timings unannounced.

How the publisher says to fight them

Deep Silver’s HOW TO PLAY AGAINST guidance says to fight Necrons outside the Power Matrix, engage their powerful ranged units, exploit their slow advances by striking vulnerable positions elsewhere, and focus fire to kill units outright. The last point is especially explicit: the publisher says that merely wounding many Necrons is not enough because some are too slow to escape. This page attributes that advice to Deep Silver rather than presenting it as a tested matchup formula.

The source does not publish a complete Necron economy, unit costs, a build order or balance figures. The confirmed part is the design described above: resilience, a spreading Power Matrix, recovery through named structures and movement tools that compensate for slowness. Anything more precise about the best timing, the best target or a guaranteed counter remains unconfirmed until the game can be played and measured.

No cost, build time, hit points, range, damage or squad size here — none of it has been published, by anyone. The game has not shipped and no playable build has produced figures that can be checked. Those rows appear the day the numbers exist.

Pages that name only the Necrons

The publisher does not label its subjects by faction, so this list is derived: it holds every page on this site where the Necrons are the only faction named. ⛔ It is not the publisher’s roster, and it is deliberately shorter than one.
